Delicious Casserole Recipe

I ran across the idea for this recipe while at the doctor thumbing through a magazine. I was reading it and thought, my this would be good if I changed some of the ingredients, so I bought some things at the market and went home to begin what was soon to become one of my families favorite casseroles. After trying this method of changing ingredients in some recipes to suit my own taste, I find its a great way to come up with new and tasty ideas.
You will need the following items:
Oven preheated 350 degrees
One pound ground chuck – cooked and drained
One small onion – chopped and sauteed
One teaspoon garlic powder
One teaspoon oregano
One teaspoon parsley
One cup cooked rice – salted to taste
One cup cottage cheese
Two cups cheddar cheese
Two eight oz. cans tomato sauce

Mix ground chuck, onion, garlic powder, oregano,and tomato sauce in a large skillet. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat. Set aside, and mix rice with parsley and cottage cheese. Spread rice mixture in the bottom of a large casserole dish. Next spread meat mixture on top of rice. Now top with cheddar cheese and place in oven for about forty – five minuets, or until top is golden brown.

Served with garlic bread and a green salad makes a well balanced and delicious meal.
